History
Happinet has a long history as Japan's leading toy wholesaler.
- June 1969
- Tosho Ltd. is established at 51-3, Takinogawa 6-chome, Kita-ku, Tokyo.
- September 1972
- Full-scale transactions with Popy (now BANDAI Co., Ltd.) commence.
- September 1972
- Tosho Ltd. restructures its organizations to establish Tosho Corporation.
- October 1991
- The company changes its name to HAPPINET CORPORATION after merging toy wholesalers
Dairin Corporation and Seiko Corporation.
- August 1994
- Headquarters moves to 4-5, Komagata 2-chome, Taito-ku, Tokyo.
- November 1994
- HAPPINET CORPORATION becomes an affiliate of BANDAI Co., Ltd., following its additional acquisition of HAPPINET CORPORATION's shares.
- August 1997
- Shares are listed with the Japan Securities Dealers' Association for an over-the-counter (OTC) listing.
- December 1998
- Shares are listed on the Second Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
- December 1999
- Shares of Beam Entertainment Corporation are acquired.
- March 2000
- Shares are listed on the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
- April 2001
- Happinet Logistics Service Corporation (now a consolidated subsidiary) is established in Ichikawa-shi, Chiba Prefecture to handle overall logistics operations.
- October 2001
- The toy wholesale division is spun off to Happinet JP Corporation.
- October 2001
- Shares of Toyokuni Corporation are acquired.
- March 2002
- Toyokuni Corporation merges with Happinet JP Corporation, the surviving company.
- March 2002
- Operations of Matsui Sakae Toys Co., Ltd., a local toy wholesaler, are transferred to Happinet JP Corporation.
- April 2004
- HAPPINET CORPORATION absorbs Happinet JP Corporation, Happinet Pictures Corporation and Happinet Robin Corporation.
- December 2005
- HAPPINET CORPORATION becomes an affiliate of BANDAI NAMCO Holdings Inc., following the partial transfer of operations related to management of shares of affiliates of BANDAI Co., Ltd. to BANDAI NAMCO Holdings Inc. as a result of a company split.
- June 2006
- Shares of MORI TOYS CO., LTD. are acquired.
- April 2007
- MORI TOYS CO.,LTD. is renamed MORI GAMES CO., LTD. , following the transfer of its toy business to Best Heart Co., Ltd. through a company split.
- November 2007
- Shares of SUNLINK CO.,LTD.(now a consolidated subsidiary) are acquired.
- November 2007
- Shares of the APPLE Corporation are acquired.
- February 2008
- Happinet Marketing Corporation (now a consolidated subsidiary) is established.
- October 2008
- The amusement businesses of the APPLE Corporation and SUNLINK KYUSYU CO.,LTD. are transferred to SUNLINK CO.,LTD. through a company split. The amusement businesses of HAPPINET CORPORATION and Happinet AM Service Corporation are transferred to SUNLINK CO.,LTD., which is renamed Happinet Vending Service Corporation (now a consolidated subsidiary).

- Shares of WINT CORPORATION are acquired.
- April 2011
- The visual and music sales business was transferred to WINT CORPORATION, which had its name changed to Happinet Pictures & Music Corporation.
- July 2013
- Shares of TOYS UNION CO.,LTD.(now a consolidated subsidiary) are acquired.
- April 2014
- HAPPINET CORPORATION absorbs Happinet Pictures and Music Corporation.
- July 2014
- TOYS UNION CO.,LTD. absorbs MORI GAMES CO.,LTD. which is renamed MAXGAMES Corporation.
- December 2015
- In November 2015, Happinet Corporation formed a capital and business alliance with Broccoli Co., Ltd. (now an afilliated company accounted for by the equity-method) and in December, subscribed to the private placement.
- February 2016
- Happinet Live Entertainment, LLC. (now Happinet Live Emotion,LLC.)is joint established(now a non-consolidated subsidiary).
- March 2018
- Some of the rights and obligations which HAPPINET CORPORATION possessed with respect to the wholesale of music and visual packages of Seikodo Co.,Ltd.have been assigned to Seikodo Marketing Corporation (now a consolidated subsidiary) as a result of the company split.
